BEHIND THE BARS
The music doesn’t take itself too seriously.
The subjects often do.
Ayy Zee is an independent rap artist with Assyrian roots, blending sharp lyricism, dark humour, social commentary and high-energy production.
Rapid-fire flows, dense internal rhymes and a distinctly UK-influenced cadence move between confident flexes, observational humour and the contradictions of modern life.
Consumer culture. Technology. Inequality. Media. Identity. Big subjects, with room for a punchline-and a little self-reflection.
Heavy bass and bouncing drums, built to hit hard in the car and leave you with something to think about once the beat stops.
Ayy Zee releases under his own label, Ayy Zee Records.
